A big thank you to my friend Joanne who shared her family's oatmeal cookie recipe with me and agreed to let me share it with you! Lots of ingredients but definitely worth it. They make a great Christmas gift, care package or just treat to have when you want a great cookie. Thanks Joanne!

OATMEAL COOKIES
1-1/2 stick unsalted butter
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cup all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
Pinch of baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups oatmeal (not instant)
1 cup Golden raisins
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tsp good quality maple syrup
Mix sugar and butter very well. Add eggs and blend well. In
separate bowl mix dry ingredients, then add to sugar mixture.
Mix well (by hand). Add maple syrup.
Add oatmeal, nuts, raisins and mix well by hand. Pick up
pieces of finished cookie dough with hand. Make into a very
loose ball and drop onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at
350 degrees for 10-13 minutes. Scrape the warm cookies with
a metal spatula before they cool so you don't break them. When
cool, (after initial scraping) put cookies in a glass jar with a good seal.
Tip* a few marshmallows in the jar will keep the cookies fresh!!
